I have been trying to find other skein winders like the antique one I found at a garage sale two weeks ago. So far, I have only found one atGiles Pearson, at Now Norma Knits, at Trout Auctioneers, at Charlotte’s Web Antiques, and at The Illinois State Museum. I spent about an hour on Sunday treating mine with Wood Beams and she is running like a champ now. I measured the yardage from the 12 o’clock position to the 12 o’clock position (or from click to click) and it measures 300 yards. Each number on the face of the clock measures 25 yards. This will be my primary way of skeining up yarn when I do not know the yardage. I will try to take a pix of her tonight.
While at the Route 66 Rendezvous this past weekend, I picked up a new/used wheel from a lady in my spinning group. It is a Clemes & Clemes kit wheel that is not in production any more. She needs a little bit of work, but for 40 dollars, I could not pass it up. Plus, this will give Bear the hands on that he has been wanting with a spinning wheel. Here are some pix from the Clemes Yahoo Group of what my wheel looks like. I really do need to get my camera out and take some pix.

One of the dowels on the back and the maiden on the front were broken.
Why haven’t I knit or taken pix lately? I have been working hard on finishing up Pele. I am done with that and need to re-ply some of the previously plied stuff. Plying is so much harder than spinning. To give myself a break, I have been working on some pretty pink, blue, and purple stuff.
Okay, I guess I should get to work.
