Extremely politically and socially incorrect but funny as hell.

No, I am not dead but thanx for asking…..

Since I don’t want any of my maybe two or three loyal readers to worry any more about my well being, I am posting an update. I just have not felt like blogging lately. We are in the middle of moving from Libby to Troy and a few other monkey wrenches have been thrown in here and there. I am still pondering on what horrible thing the Knitted Specks clan could have possibly done in a past life to cause this one to have to be worked through so hard. Hopefully we will find out sooner than later what the other side of the Death card holds for us.

Not Much

Not much has been going on. Plus I have been going through a writing funk. Yeah, I know, it is not like I was writing anything extremely intellectual or anything, but I have just been having a hard time putting words onto paper (metaphorically speaking).

Part of this funk comes from the fact that my passion is to play in dirt and grow things. Since we are renting and the yard and garden need so much love, it is killing me to not plant flowers and take care of it. My passion is screaming to plant and play while my brain is telling me that we are hoping to move with in the next month or so, do not plant anything and do not waste the money right now. To fix this, I have potted two tomato, two pepper, snap dragons, and a prettiful pot of snap dragons, Viola, and some other pretty flowers. I will need to get off of my stagnant ass and take pix.

Boog had a B-day party on Saturday. I know that I am a little shocked that he made it to 8. LOL ;) We had it at the park and the day was just so beautiful. Of course, there was some drama, but it was not too bad.

We took a wonderful ride up in the mountains on Sunday and we actually almost made it to one of the lakes in the mountains. Just a few miles away and the path was still snowed in. Of course, the boys wanted to trek through the snow, but I was wearing my Doc Martin sandals and was not going to do it.

I have figured out what I want for mother’s day and for my birthday. I want to get power on the land by the lake and find a cheap little trailer to move out there. I have gone through this stagnation a million times and now it is because I do not own my land nor do I have a place that I can grow, raise, and build on. Before, it was due to the weather not being conducive to my health nor fit to be outside in. Plus I am finding it hard to bag up the leaves and throw them away since I cannot either burn them nor compost them at the moment.

Okay, I am done whining for the moment. I need to re-braid my hair, put a T on under my sweat shirt, put on trainers, eat lunch, go to a P/T conference at Goobs school, then meet Angel to walk down to the LYS and then play with some rocks at the store next to it. That should brighten my day a bit. Oh, and I should hopefully be receiving a Tri-loom in the mail today. My insides are feeling better since I started a total body cleansing week long program yesterday. It is called Dieter’s Cleanse but it totally cleanses your colon, digestion, strengthens your glands, and so many other things.

Have a rock’n day everyone and enjoy the warmer weather. Oh, and to you peeps in the belt, watch out for the tornadoes.

Slow Kat…..

Like the slow kat I am, I have been taking a break from blogging for a bit and have finally followed the cool crowd and watched Juno. OMFG, it was totally like listening to peeps I have known forever. I cannot believe they actually have a Juno Dictionary that came with it. It totally felt like the North West, for a very good reason. Like most groovy films, I have fallen in love with a new groovy Indie/Folk artist, of course, from PNW. Here is a clip of Kimya Dawson at the Knitting Factory.  I think I have found a new theme song. LOL :D

A wee bit of fun

She’s Done

I have been working mainly on the Traditional Danish Warp Shawl from the current Spin Off mag. In between working on it, I have been pushing out wash clothes. I can now get a wash cloth crocheted in about 2 hours even while breaking up bights between the boy brats. My Danish Wrap Shawl is done. Holy cow, I thought it would have used so much more yarn. I still have two balls left off to the side. I totally could have spun it back onto its self, but she is prettifull anyways.

Yesterday was spent with Goob at my side for the most part. Spring Break starting this week and the weather has been crap. From what I have been told, this is one of the coldest springs in forever. Goob started to get a cough like he dies every spring. Yesterday he was just acting a little off and even fell asleep when he sat next to me while I was knitting. I noticed his right ear was bright red, so I busted out the bottle of garlic oil to start fighting off any koodies that were trying to make a home in there. I then noticed how hot he was and sent another one of the bratlings to get me the ear thermometer. I took three temps in each ear and they all came back at about 104 degree. Now it was time for the children’s Motrin, Tylenol does not work on any of us. I sat down with him after dinner (and you know he is ill when he does not finish his baby corn dogs and french fries) and watch Revenge of the Sith (my ulimate fave Star Wars movie). He fell asleep right after Anakin went to the dark side. Here is a pix of my wonderful baby, red ears, nose, and all.

His fever broke some time during the night. I had him sleep with me just in case he needed more medicine. He was still a little warm, but his cough is starting to become wet, his ears are not hot anymore, and he was back to being a little mr. poopie head.

P.O.W.W

I have been away from the computer for about 4 day due to being a POWW. In my world, that is a Prisoner Of Wonderful Weather. :D Saturday was about 70 and I was outside most of the day. Sunday rolled around and it was about 75-80, and I was outside just about all day again. Even though we do not think we will be staying in this place for much more than another month or two, I cannot resist working on the garden. Stinkie was planting sun flowers and other seeds that came in a gift package I got last year. I was rummaging around with the hand rake getting all of the weeds, leaves, and baby maple trees out of the dirt, while Goobran aroun with the watering can making sure everything had enough water to drown in.

(PUBLIC NOTICE ANNOUNCEMENT) Boog is still with us even though I do not know for how much longer at this time. He has developed Middle Child syndrome and thinks he is not getting the attention he deserves or wants at the times he thinks are appropriate. With this come the horrible acting out. Saturday I looked out the window to view him picking up Lightning the Wonder Corgi by his tale and only his from paws were on the ground. I came un-fuk’n-glued. I know this is just a stage, but he will spend all of his time on his gameboy or watching the boob tube and only come up to play when he hears the rest of us having fun. He is grounded to his room again and I am not sure if I want him out cause I am tired of it. Fae, please remind me on a regular basis that I have survived this once before and will survive this once again. AAAARRRRGGGG!!!!!

(BACK TO REGULAR BROADCAST) I have been working on the Danish Wrap Shawl and am totally loving it. I may end up starting another here when I get this one finished. I am spinning up the mostest prettiest purple yarn right now. And the pattern goes so unbelievable quick. Plus the perk of picking out just about any patter I would like to add to it to embellish it totally rocks.

Bear and I mentioned to Pappa Bear about buying his land by the lake and he seems ago with it. To cut costs, we are thinking about buying an older mobile home, putting it on the land, live in it while we are building add-ons and renovating it. One of Bear’s adoptive uncles has done this and it totally rocks.

Okay, I am off to eat lunch and pick up the main floor some.

My new project…..

I am cleaning out my UFOs. I am not totally ripping them out, just taking them out of my living space so that I am not feeling like I am bogged down by them. I am also going to start having only one or two projects going at a time instead of my polygamous acts of project love. The #1 project is the Traditional Danish Tie Shawl from the newest Spin Off Mag. Unfortunately, there is not a link to the shawl on the site, so here is a pix of one I found on the net. If you click the pix, you will be lead to the site I found the pix.

pic-heidetuch-doro-5 This is what the finished shawl will looke like. I am not sure what sort of edging I will put on it.

100_0223 This is where I am at on the shawl as of this morning. I am planning on working on it a few hours a day, but it is now taking about 15 or so minutes per row. It so knits up fast and is so nice. The specks on the yarn is that it was a therapy dye job of fiver that I bought from Freshwater Fibers
